🎯 First of All... Yes, Humans Really Got Cat Tattoos for a Good Cause
The machines were buzzing louder than Seymour’s morning meows. Inked arms everywhere and the glorious smell of coffee and antiseptic.
From the moment our hoomans Ashley & Alex walked in, Flash Tat for Cats, hosted by the purr-fectly badass crew at Luna & Sol Ink in York, PA. It was alive with a kind of electric, paw-sitive energy that even we could feel through the photos. And listen, we’ve been to our fair share of cat events — this one? This one scratched a new itch. 🐾
Because this wasn’t just a tattoo pop-up.
It was a movement.
“Luna & Sol Ink is a cozy, femme-led tattoo studio specializing in fine, dreamy designs. We’re all about good vibes, creativity, and helping you feel confident and beautiful. ”
🐾 What Is Flash Tat for Cats?
So, what’s a Flash Tat for Cats event?
It’s where incredibly talented tattoo artists (Alexis & Jess) donate their time, tools, and talent to raise money for local rescue cats — by giving guests the dopest cat-inspired flash tattoos you’ve ever seen and donating a portion of the tattoo commission to furry friends in need!
What Went Down:
Guests picked from a selection of cat-themed flash tattoos
Got inked by pro artists Alexis & Jess who love animals as much as they love their machines
Snagged stickers, t-shirts, and other amazing gems located at Luna & Sol Ink
It sold out. Obviously.

💬 Final Thoughts from the STRAYZ Newsroom
If we had opposable thumbs (and less fur), we’d be first in line to get a tattoo of our hooman’s face. Okay maybe not... but still. Events like this show what happens when creativity meets compassion — and honestly? More businesses should be this brave.
Flash Tat for Cats wasn’t just about ink. It was about love. Community. And leaving your mark — literally and figuratively — on the world.
We hope this is the first of many. If you’re a tattoo shop reading this... consider this your sign to grab your flash sheet and do it for the paws.
🐾 Behind the Ink: A Quick Chat with the Owner of Luna & Sol Ink
After watching the magic unfold at Tats for Cats, we couldn’t leave without getting the full scoop from one of the artists making it all happen. We got the full scoop from the owners Alexis & Jess of Luna & Sol Ink in York, PA, to learn how this powerful partnership between tattoos and TNR came to life.
Q: How did the idea for Tats for Cats come to life?
Funny story—I didn’t come up with the idea myself! Kayla, the owner of Tabby Trappers, actually reached out early in my career. She asked if I’d want to team up and hold a fundraiser with her rescue. Of course, I jumped at the opportunity.
Q: What inspired you to combine tattoos with animal rescue fundraising?
We’ve seen firsthand how many cats in our area need help, especially with TNR (trap-neuter-return). Flash events already bring people together, so we thought—why not use that platform to raise funds and awareness for the cats who don’t have a voice?
Q: Which organization(s) or shelters are benefiting from today’s event?
We’re working with Tabby Trappers, a local TNR rescue based right here in York, PA. They’re doing incredible work getting stray and feral cats fixed, vetted, and into safe environments—or adopted into loving homes when possible. This is my third year working with them!
Q: How much of today’s proceeds go toward helping shelter cats—and how are those funds used?
For each tattoo, $35 goes directly to Tabby Trappers. That money helps cover spay/neuter surgeries, vet care, food, and supplies for the cats in their care. Every dollar truly makes a difference.
Q: What makes today’s flash tattoo lineup special or different from a regular day at the shop?
All the designs are cat-themed or nature-inspired, created just for this fundraiser. Some people even bring their own ideas within the size limit—so it’s super personalized. But it’s more than tattoos—it’s the community vibe that makes this day feel so special.
Q: How can people support your mission if they can’t make it to the event today?
They can donate directly to Tabby Trappers, share our posts, or book a tattoo at a later date and mention the fundraiser—we’re always down to keep the mission going.
Q: What’s your dream impact at Luna & Sol Ink?
We want Luna & Sol Ink to be more than just a tattoo shop. Our dream is to create a space that uplifts our community, supports causes we believe in, and allows people to express themselves through art in a safe, inclusive, and welcoming environment. Whether it’s through fundraisers, collabs, or treating every client with care—we want our impact to go far beyond skin deep.
